China has strongly opposed America’s move to stop the downloading of the WeChat and Tik-Tok app. He also warned the US to take retaliatory measures to protect the interests of Chinese companies. The US on Friday issued an order to ban popular Chinese social media apps Tik-Tok and WeChat in view of national security. A few weeks ago, India had also banned many of China’s apps for sovereignty, integrity, and security of the country.

US President Donald Trump signed an order last month to ban Tik-Tok and WeChat until September 15 if they did not own an American company. Reacting to the Trump government’s order banning Tik-Tok and WeChat, the Commerce Ministry from China said on Saturday that China strongly opposes the move.

In the absence of any evidence, the US has repeatedly used the government’s power to suppress two enterprises for illegal reasons, which severely disrupted their normal business activities. The move has lowered the confidence of international investors in the US investment environment and has hurt normal global economic and trade activities.

The ministry said that China is preparing to take retaliatory measures to protect the interests of its companies. However, the ministry did not elaborate on what kind of steps China is preparing to take. On June 29, India announced a ban on China’s 59 apps with Tik-Tok and WeChat. Later, India expanded the scope of such apps, and currently, 224 apps in China are banned in India.
