Mumbai Police has issued a third notice to actress Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel for recording statements in the case of allegedly promoting disharmony among various communities through their comments. Earlier, Bandra Police had issued the first notice on 21 October while the second notice was issued on 10 November to record the statement of the actress and her sister in this case.
Notice has been issued to Kangana Ranaut and Rangoli to appear at Bandra Police Station on 23 and 24 November. Earlier on the issue of the notice, Kangana’s counsel sent a reply stating that Kangana is currently in Himachal Pradesh and is busy with her cousin’s wedding.
According to PTI, the Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate’s court last month ordered the police to investigate the complaint of Munawar Ali Syed, a Bollywood casting director and fitness trainer. This complaint was made about the alleged statements of Kangana and her sister.
Subsequently, the Bandra Police filed sections 153-A (promoting disharmony among various groups on the basis of different religions), 295-A (intentionally committing acts that hurt religious sentiments) against the two sisters, 124-A ( Sedition), filed an FIR under 34 (shared intent). The police also asked the actress and her sister to appear before the police.
